Our present-tense experiencing self is all the time speaking to us in images. This visual language is easy to miss when we are awake – when we sleep we see it as dreams. We can learn to dip into this visual dialogue, which helps us to become more present to how we feel about what’s going on around us in the moment, what we are understanding about it, and how we want to respond. We learn to dream awake, and become more present to ourselves and others.
Just like dreams, imagery exercises send us little messages – telling us where we might be blocked, talents we have but might not be using, and showing new perspectives we might be missing. We teach at the Institute that dreams are meant to be interacted with, and some dreams are asking for something to be transformed. Images are the same. By working with blocked images – in dreams or awake – we can transform self and situation.
The Institute offers numerous imagery classes on various topics that use short prompts as a way of looking inside, and connecting with this internal dreaming dialogue. This fun, experiential workshop will give you the chance to explore this way of dreaming awake, and give you a taste of the imagery work that we do at the Institute.
