Young dreamers need the support of the adult mentors in their lives.
To become a DYW Kids® Mentor you receive training in the basic foundations of dreaming, and learn how to facilitate the transformation of nightmares and blocks in dreams and turn transformations into group activities using specific tools aimed at young dreamers, among other skills. Along the way you will deepen your own relationship with dreaming.
DYW Kids Adult Mentors become certified to:
- Form and lead youth dream groups
- Form and lead youth dream workshops
- Use dreaming and dream-based activities in group and individual work with youth
- Create developmentally appropriate activities for youth inner growth
The certification is aimed at those who have an existing professional practice working with youth such as educators, psychologists and creative professionals. The certification process is a deeper learning experience for you as an individual practitioner in your own development, as well as in application to your specific field of practice.
The classes listed in the curriculum are minimum requirements. As each student moves at their own pace, the Institute reserves the right to ask a student to include more classes or individual sessions if there is a need for further learning.
Rather than one large payment, the certification program is paid on a semester basis for the classes/sessions taken. Once you have indicated your desire to enter the training program you will be in close contact with faculty who will help you to select classes and guide you on your learning path.
If you would like to apply, or have a question about your experience and its applicability to the certification, and how it can be applied to your work, please email us.
