Leaders are pressed to be creative, innovative, manage difficult social interactions and organizational cultures, find and hold a vision for the organization, and maintain steady progress toward the fulfillment of that vision. Dreaming and imagery works to develop each of these skill sets in specific ways.
The Institute has a long history of developing leaders, including currently providing programming for the GWU Center for Excellence in Public Leadership’s eCo Leadership Coaching Certification program where IIDI founder Bonnie Buckner serves as co-faculty director of the program. Anna Nowicka, adjunct faculty for IIDI, is a also PCC level coach, and provides mentor support for the program. In addition, Bonnie has an extensive background in the leadership and entrepreneurial space, which informs how she has adapted the dreaming work to executives and leaders of various fields from government to tech.
The benefits of a dreaming practice begin before even learning how to work with dreams. To begin with, dreams are an immediate encounter with new perspectives, and engage neurological processes that are responsible for idea generation, future-thinking, understanding the points of views of others, and more. We teach you how to enlarge this space, beginning with dreaming, to become a creative wellspring that you can access throughout your day. Learning to flex back and forth between idea and manifestation makes a fluid leader who can navigate daily demands and unexpected challenges.
The Introduction to dreaming workshop is a fun, experiential window into the work we do with leaders where you’ll learn more about how dreaming can help you become the leader you want to be. You’ll also learn about DYW Leadership, a program of classes designed for leadership development.
